Winter snow and ice at Silver Run Falls in Western North Carolina
Photo of the Day: February 14, 2022

Happy Valentine’s Day, folks!

When I lived in Upstate South Carolina I drove NC-107 frequently to access the Chattooga River and to get up to the Blue Ridge Escarpment.  Silver Run Falls, a small waterfall near Cashiers, North Carolina, was just off the roadside.  The walk to the falls is flat and short.

Seeing as it was freezing cold, I decided to get into the water for this shot.  I never claimed to be the brightest bulb on the string :-).
