Publication: The Blue Ridge Travel Guide
Issue: 2015
For several years my travels around Western North Carolina have brought me into contact with The Blue Ridge Travel Guide, a hard-bound publication placed within hotel rooms and rental homes around the area. The guide features photography from the surrounding mountains, as well as directories and adverts of places to see, things to do and entertainment options while visiting. When I decided to become a full-time freelance outdoor photographer, I made it a priority to contact the publisher, Steve Wike, about the potential for contributing to the guide and found that fellow photographer and friend (as well as alum of The Blue Ridge Travel Guide) Dave Allen, had already put in a good word about my photography. Thus, I gained an awesome opportunity to contribute to the fourth annual Blue Ridge Travel Guide for the year 2015. I was one of eleven photographers chosen to participate this year. The previous edition of the guide was said to have been placed in over 280 lodging facilities (over 8,000 guest rooms) in and around Western North Carolina the previous year, so, needless to say, I was (am) stoked about the opportunity to share my photography with a wider audience. A big thanks to Steve Wike and Blue Ridge Business LLC for the opportunity, and to all the other contributing photographers for the chance to share some page space with their great work!
A full digital version of The Blue Ridge Travel Guide can be found HERE, should you be interested. If you have a rental home in the area and/or would just like a personal copy for your own home (I ordered one for myself!), you can find purchase information at the Blue Ridge Travel Guide website HERE. And, if you’re out and about traveling in Western North Carolina this year, keep your eyes peeled for a copy in your room at various lodging establishments!
