Happy #stackersaturday!
It always gives me a kick thinking about what is considered acceptable, honorable uses of ones time, energy and effort. And, on the flip side, what is considered wasteful, unproductive, and ultimately unacceptable.
I’ve spent twelve hour days hammering a keyboard. I’ve been an hourly laborer on a construction site. I’ve gone without sleep for days in graduate school to meet some syllabus requirement. I’ve tried a lot of weird shit for different jobs and personal pursuits. And you know, I’d rather just quietly walk a beach looking for shiny and/or smooth things to stack up and take a photograph of.
Take away money and other people’s expectations and I’m not sure there’s a better way to spend a winter morning than taking a long walk on a deep sand Carolina beach along The Atlantic Ocean. I know, not very ambitious or altruistic of me. Remember what I said about other people’s expectations…
