Story:  Assignments, Motivation Assignment Winner (p.42)

While tradition would say that you should fake it until you make it, I was rather excited and surprised when an editor at Outdoor Photographer Magazine contacted me to say that I had won their most recent online challenge centered around the theme “motivation” with my image of rolling fog at Grassy Ridge in the Roan Highlands.  The image, captured with my father and his German Shepherd, was from a magical sunrise high atop Grassy Ridge, a highland meadow full of blooming Catawba Rhododendron during June in the Roan Highlands.  When the sun rose, a thick layer of fog began to shape and form to the ridgeline, rolling up and over the tree lines like a glove.  It was quite the site for sure–and really neat to share it with my father for a change.
