Publication:  National Park Service Denver Service Center FY 2013 Annual Report

Issue:  Fiscal Year 2013 (Cover Image)

It was pretty neat to be contacted by the National Park Service regarding a photograph.  Granted, there was no remuneration involved.  However, so much of my day-to-day job is made possible because of national park land and the access that is granted.  Without the ability to freely photograph these beautiful areas, a job I would not have!

The Denver Service Center of the National Park Service chose a photograph of the Bodie Island Lighthouse with autumn orange grasses and a thin layer of radiant fog for their 2013 FY Annual Report cover.  It is stated within the report that the Denver Service Center is the “central planning, design and construction project office for the National Park Service” (p.4).  As such, the Denver Service Center was the arm directly in charge of the recent restoration of the Bodie Island Lighthouse that restored visitor access to the tower.
